About this van

Meet Grooky πŸ₯‘ β€” a 2024 Dream Drive KUMA Q, one of the first handcrafted Japanese campervan conversions imported into Australia, built on a Toyota Hiace H200 SLWB 4x4. Full story, specs, and 35+ photos β€” including what he actually looks like lived-in on the road β€” here: grooky.gibbolabs.com We went looking for something that could fit our family of four (kids 12 & 9) without being a motorhome β€” small enough for a carpark or drive-through, easy enough to use as a second car, but properly set up to sleep and travel as a family. Grooky was exactly that. We named him after the PokΓ©mon (the kids' idea β€” custom plates to match), used him for weekend trips to get our feet wet, then took 4 weeks off and did a mini lap of Australia β€” Newcastle to Uluru to Airlie Beach and back, 9,000km, completely flawless. It's all documented on our YouTube channel if you want to see him in action. The kids are getting older now and we're unlikely to get that much time together on the road again, so it's time to find Grooky his next family. πŸ“ Newcastle, NSW πŸ›£οΈ 21,225km, one family owner since new, fully serviced πŸ›οΈ Sleeps 4 β€” queen bed + convertible seat bed + extra mattress underneath 🍳 Handcrafted Japanese woodwork, walnut countertop, fridge/freezer, 38L water tank πŸ”‹ 200Ah lithium battery, 2000W inverter, full 240V + USB throughout πŸš™ Petrol 4x4 auto, Apple CarPlay, digital rear-view mirror, Toyo Open Country R/T tyres πŸ“„ Rego to Sept 2026, comprehensively insured
